"Today, we deliver the humanitarian aid from the Jakarta Zakat Forum for our affected brothers and sisters in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra," said Pramono.

According to him, synergy between the government and zakat management organizations is crucial in accelerating post-disaster response.

"There are 22 or 23 organizations that have collected around Rp. 3 billion and all of this is then sent as a contribution," he added.

He also conveyed the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to continuing to assist resident affected by disasters, including by raising donations during the upcoming New Year's Eve celebrations. The donations will not only be focused on disaster-affected areas in Sumatra but will also be distributed to other affected areas.

The General Secretary of the Zakat Forum for the Jakarta Province, Ikhwan Muttaqin, stated that the Zakat Forum, which has members from around 54 zakat collection institutions, is carrying out aid activities for Sumatra.

In the first phase, 23 institutions contributed and will distribute more than 23 trucks to the Sumatra region. The total donations collected reached Rp 3,055,000,000.

"The funds collected reached Rp 3.55 billion or the equivalent of 60 tons of aid sent there," he stated.

He hopes the donations collected will ease the burden on residents affected by the floods in Sumatra. Ikhwan also hopes the collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government can continue.
